I love a movie that reminds me of Lupin and the gang. I came here to recommend some movies and saw that there wasn't a thread for it yet! So, I'm gunna remedy that. Yall join in with your recommendations, please 😀 I'll be adding more as I think of them, or see a new one.

The first movie I'm going to recommend is called "The Linguini Incident". It stars Roseanna Arquette and David Bowie, and is about a wanna be escape artist waitress and a bartender who has a debt to settle. Both work for a very well off resturant and make a plan to rob it. Very funny and weird, definitely worth a watch if you like silly heist movies

Now for a more serious heist movie, "The Taking of Pelham 123(1974)". It stars Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw. Three men take subway car Pelham 123 hostage for $1Million in cash. Lt. Zachary Garber must track the subway car and broker a deal to rescue the passengers, while also trying to catch the thieves! If you like a good ol "Will he catch them?" This is definitely a movie for you!

Honestly check out Tokyo Drifter (1966), anything by Seijun Suzuki is pretty fantastic. He actually went on to co direct gold of Babylon which is a little consider his filmography. Also if you're fine with the classics, Modern Times was a massive inspiration!

Ok, so this is a pretty off the wall suggestion, but Hudson Hawk (1991) with Bruce Willis. It's not a GOOD film - it's a BAD one, but it has heists and a cartoonish level of humour.

The Ocean's Eleven series is definitely one I would recommend! You have the 1960 movie with Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, which I enjoyed alot I would say, and then you have the remake with George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Both of them are great, from what I've heard. So far, I've only seen the 1960 movie (which came out before the Lupin manga). Just seeing the whole heist with the casino and how they plan it gave me Lupin vibes 100%.

My crew and I watched the Oceans movies recently, but not the old ones. I'll have to check out the original :)

returning to this to mention "dirty rotten scoundrels" from 1989. really solid conman movie with a killer ending. this is kind of a spoiler for the whole thing (i cannot emphasize this enough, def watch the movie if you have the time then come back, i guess), but
it's 10,000% a fujiko movie!
this is very very obvious by the end lol.

I saw that a looong time ago. I'll have to add that to my rewatch list.

The non-spoilery concept is "Two rival conmen compete to fleece the same mark", which ought to appeal to any of the Lupin crowd I should think.

Red Sun is on Tubi right now, but I don't think you should expect these films to REALLY be like Lupin III. Just that they contain elements you also find in Lupin.

I don’t have access to tubi because I live in Sweden and the site is not available on the icountry itself but maybe I will track it down on physical media if it’s available
