The title sounds like a conspiracy thing but no, this is about when you know something and it takes you out of a film for being wrong.

I've received a little education about hypothermia (probably in high school health, idk)

So when Lupin and Jigen fall in a frozen river - that's a huge hypothermia danger - AND THEN DRINK, that took me out for a bit. Drinking makes you feel warm inside. It does not actually make you warm or protect you from the cold. More the opposite!

When my group and I watched it we all had the same reaction as well! I'd just finished taking my boating license course and there was a whole section on hypothermia. Basically Lupin and Jigen were TEXTBOOK "what not to do" here!

Not to mention Zenigata putting snow on his gaping wound and still being able to walk around for two days.
