Hey there! We've got a new episode of Sideburns & Cigarettes out today, so I'll start a thread here to keep up with all of our episodes moving forward!
We've got a very special one to kick off this thread too! We reviewed the newest crossover film "Lupin III vs. Cat's Eye" with not one, but two special guests. Our co-host in Switzerland, joining us for his very first full episode, Guillaume, and none other than the lovely fellow behind Lupin Central himself, Lee Sparkes!! It was such a delight to have both of them on the show, and we had a blast covering this new movie.
NEW EPISODE! Usually we don't get another episode out this soon, but this has been sitting on the backburner for a bit. We're almost back to covering Part 1, but before that, we've got some more catching up to do! In this episode, we cover episodes 5 through 9 of Lupin's first TV outing. It's our longest episode to date, and personally, one of my favorite discussions we've had about Part 1 so far.
Been incredibly busy as of late and not as active in here as I'd like to be. Hoping that will change in the coming days, and I almost forgot to mention we have a NEW EPISODE!
After a whole year since I last said we'd be be returning to Part 1 on the podcast, we're finally back. Our episode-by-episode coverage resumes with our review of Episode 10, "Target the Cash Counterfeiter!". Join us as we talk baked bean bullets, the Practice of Cagliostro, parallels to Soviet counterfeiting, the Wet Bandits, the inevitability of time, and much more!
I'm so happy to finally be back to talking about Part 1. Now that we're covering individual episodes, you'll be hearing us a bit more frequently! Hope you enjoy it!
We're back with another Part 1 review! In this episode, we discuss Episode 11 "When the Seventh Bridge Falls"! Join us as we talk gun cocking (with teeth), asshole Lupin/sweet Lupin, the fingernail stick, Tony Oliver THE GOAT, Miyazaki/Takahata's influence, the Old Salty look, and much more!

Life has been a bit all over the place as of late but I finally remembered to post our newest episode here. We're now around the halfway mark of Part 1 (well, as halfway you can get in an odd number of episodes) with our review of Part 1, Episode 12: "Who Had the Last Laugh?"
Join us as we talk Lupin being a gremlin, squeaky snow, boring villains, village bombing, badass Fujiko, klutzy Jigen, tiger skin boxers, and much more! Hope you enjoy it!
Life has continued to be a bit busy for me recently, and I've completely neglected posting here. I wanna try to remedy that, not just for the podcast announcements, but also in general. Figured a catch-up post for the podcast would be kinda fun. So, here's what we've been up to since June of last year lmao.

It was all fun and games for Lupin, Jigen, and Fujiko before the seductive Ginko slapped a time bomb on each of them. On February 9th, 2020, we began our coverage of Lupin III: Part I. Today, we finally close the book on our journey with Lupin's first TV outing with our review of Episode 23: "The Big Golden Showdown!"
It's all coming to a head. The entirety of Tokyo is scrambling to claim ownership of a recently-discovered stash of gold, Zenigata is putting his badge on the line to capture the Lupin gang once and for all, and Lupin might just put his life on the line to pull the most brazen heist yet.

It's been a long road covering this series. We're grateful for every listener who's been along for the ride. Whether you've been here from the start or joined along the way, thank you. Here's to more great adventures ahead!
I recently listened to your Lupin Starter's Kit and your coverage of my fave part 1 eps (5 and 7) while drawing and loved what you all had to say - as someone who's relatively new to the franchise it's a great way to get multiple perspectives on it, especially on a topic as broad and subjective as "where to start"! I love that all Lupin fans have different ideas of what's a good starting point (couldn't agree more on part 1 ep 4) and that they can all coexist - there's always gonna be new people to introduce to the show, after all
Congrats on wrapping up part 1!!! I look forward to catching up
