Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone here has this book and could give their opinion of it?

(Channelling Gollum) I wants it... my precious...

I might have to one you're asking about? This one?

I enjoyed seeing the cel sketches and little notes, but I don't feel like it had too much production info or art pieces other than just that. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more books though, so hopefully the one you're thinking of does!

Not much else, I am sorry to report. The bulk of the book is sketch versions of frames from every episode in Part 5. There's a few pages of interviews. But I really do mean few, like 5 total.

Basically if you look at that thread I posted, all the pages look like that, with the exception of a few at the back. Most of the sketches are ones that directly became frames, there were no concept sketches sadly. The main info you can get is from small notes on each page. It seems like they choose a handful of key frames from each episode and that's basically the book.

I DID learn while checking the back of the book was that Monkey Punch approved Albert's design and asked for him to keep being used in the future.

Oh that's a cool thing to know about Albert! I'd like to see him return :) As Albert is trying to build more power in France - and spirited away Ling at the end of Part 5 - I could see Lupin and Albert at loggerheads again in the future.

It makes the fact that they included him in Zero and Part 6 make more sense to me actually haha the other note I found funny was Yatagarasu, the character designer said "I thought that was a very interesting name and I wondered if there was any meaning/plot behind it and the director said no" :loop_laugh:
