I love Dynamite Joe but yeah Mash is my guilty pleasure! He has such a strong presence which is pretty rare for Lupin NPCs lol I really want to have him actually appear in some of my fics eventually. He features heavily in my Pirate AU, but I just hadn’t gotten to him being on screen, only alluded to lol

The one I always think about is André Maxim from the Last Job, just a big ol man with a big ol yoyo with a hate-boner for Jigen.
Mash is great for the anGST but Dynamite Joe is so good not to love. Big boy is definitely the favorite.

Gallenco (the big millitary guy from Part 3) is a fun one lol I think there was one in Part 2, or maybe Part 3, where Jigen gets invited to a “friend” who is working with a dictatorship type thing and Jigen clearly feels bad about turning on the guy but he’s like “Nah this is wrong, sorry.” And fires a rocket at him or something? Sheesh I need to rewatch and look for that haha

I don't know if this one counts, but I just watched episode 103 of part 2 and I think the unspoken relationship between that one-off character Harry Satler and Jigen is interesting. We don't really get a proper explanation on what they're relationship was before, but the whole episode, Jigen is pretty nervous about meeting Satler again, establishing that he's somebody Jigen takes very seriously. Statler is def a big guy, and he has a young daughter, so I almost wonder if he inspired Hawk from Bloodspray.
The episode has a slow burn vibe to it, some good JigLup moments, and is def one of the better "100 episode celebration" episodes.

Ohhh I have watched all of Part 2 and I'm currently doing a rewatch, but I'm excited to get to this episode - I remember it being good! Thank you for the recommendation!

Here's another vote for Mash. I feel like he has some of the same qualities to him as Lupin, except that he displays them in a far more negative way. Like, Lupin and Mash both feel like playful personalities to me, but Mash is cruel about it in a way Lupin isn't, if that makes sense? And that in turn makes it fascinating for me to think about Jigen and Mash as exes and how Jigen has found something similar but better in Lupin.

Yes! What a fun way to define it.
I had forgotten the scene at the start of the movie, where Mash just harasses Lupin with an airplane by flying way way too low. And I think this is before he even knows they're pitted against each other he just is doing something dangerous and mean to a random guy
