As a fan of Detective Conan, it didn't take long for me to find out about the large amount of Japanese mystery novels out there! So far, I've gotten all of Pushkin Vertigo's Seishi Yokomizo's Kosuke Kindaichi novels, two books of Edogawa Rampo's Kogoro Akechi and Yukito Ayatsuji's Decagon House Murders!
So far, I've only read The Honjin Murders, the Early Cases of Akechi Kogoro and I've started Death on Gokumon Island, but I absolutely love the Japanese take on the genre, and how much more of a horror bent these books take, giving them a unique identity.
Has anyone else delved into these books, and if so, any other recommendations? I highly recommend the Honjin Murders, its not too long and the locked room mystery is very intriguing!
