could lupin potentially be yandere?

IMO I think he can easily get obsessive and focused on goals, so I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility to write. But I would say if it was about a PERSON rather than a goal I think he would have his ego checking him from showing that much for another person openly. He would always be playing it like he didn't care. I think the only one he quashes his ego for to obsess about is Fujiko.

As a big lover of Yanderes, I say he has no Yandere Potentia, he is way to collected to be so obsessed with someone, sure you could make an argument with him maybe having potential with Fujiko. But I don’t really think so.
BUT there is an obvious other Yandere in the room, a man so obsessed with another Person they do everything in the sake of getting that person.
ZENIGATA!!! He could be one, he is definitely Yandere Potential when it comes to Lupin!

didn't zenigata went technically full yandere in part 4 the Italian adventure keeping lupin trapped in a cell on an island, to the point the lupin attempted to fake his own death to get away from zenigata? if thats not classic yandere Idk what is. but I still think though lupin has the capacity to become yandere, its just boils down to what he is at the time.
like jacket colors kinds of determines what moral alignment we might expect from lupin:

Green-more morally ambiguous, can be just as bad if not worse than manga lupin.
red-more chaotic neutral a little bit self serving but does the right thing at the end of the day.
pink-as I like to call him the midlife crisis/biological clock lupin, quite a few of part 3 episodes centered around lupin trying to get fujiko to settle down with him.
blue-more carefree and action oriented. like he's a go with the flow. he ascended from his mid life crisis.

green and pink have more of a possibility for yandere like behavior then red and blue, but for two different reasons.

green-might get too infatuated with fujiko or some good time girl, and because he is technically unhinged already yandere would just be a natural step up.
pink-one too many rejections of marriage proposals and outside pressure can turn lupin yandere for fujiko. I mean after all his biological clock is ticking and fujiko did treat him poorly when the sub plot of marriage proposals came up.

I do have a question, what if turned fujko into a idea? like on a scale of yandere on that point 1 being slight yandere, 10 military weapons grade yandere, what scale would he fall into? I feel like needs some great catalyst, and memories are ideas. and by putting in her in a position where she merely becomes an idea in lupins mind and no longer with in his reach.

Like if she had died? Or disappeared? It's hard to imagine he wouldn't follow or find her wherever she went unless it was beyond the grave haha

yeah like dead, like lets say hypothetically Fujiko did an oppsie woopsie, that made someone else want revenge to the point the plot begins with someone going full hamlet. I mean after all think about it, with how many times Fujiko technically screwed over someone. there has to be at least 1 of them that was screwed over enough that they might have someone angry enough to take revenge in their stead. maybe someone who is potentially related, maybe a son or a daughter. I mean after all hamlets quest for self destructive revenge was due to the murder commited by current king in the story.

Like the story I have in mind is, it begins with lupin chasing fujiko down, he wants to settle down, leave thieving behind and getting to work on continuing his family legacy. He's not getting any younger, technology just keeps adapting, if he wants an heir that will stand a chance in the future of thieving he needs to do it like asap. its not only that too, ever since he was a kid he never had his dad as involved in his life as other kids, he didn't knew his real mom, the past 2 lupins to get heirs to continue their legacy, chose the stray cat route of fathering as many different kids with as many different beautiful women as possible then battle royaling in the thief challenge to inherit the title of lupin. He wants a family, but he wants to do it right, he's heavily influenced by his upbringing not matching the post WWII nuclear family ideal. its why he's so great with kids, because he never had that in his childhood. there was no daddy to help him guide his way, he had to figure shit out for himself. Part of him wouldn't even care if they took up thieving, because he considers all children the future, so merely having kids would be a point of pride. he can't imagine doing that with anyone but fujiko. sure good time girls are nice, but only fujiko seems to get him, understand him, because their so alike.
so he decides to propose in a grandiose fashion, he knows of a castle in the black forest of germany that is easily rented out, that is so remote that not even zenigata would be bothering them because its that remote, he invites jigen goemon, and some extended lupin family as this would be an event where he proposes. the day goes swimmingly inching to the dinner scene, where lupin nervously begins psyche himself up for proposal. But just as he's about to pull out a ring and ask fujiko, a flash of white and red, a loud bang and the shattering of glass. one moment fujiko was sitting next to him, the next, all he can see is blood staining the table cloth, on the floor crumpled lies fujiko motionless, no doubt dead. a quarter of a mile away a woman is sitting in a tree smirking, as she looks down at a picture of her beloved father in one hand another holds a snipers rifle. she looks gleeful, the woman who tore her family apart is dead, and now she tore lupins hope for a family right apart. her father was avenged. but this isn't where the story is going to end just the beginning. Afterall revenge always begets more revenge in the lupin-verse.

so what you think? 1 to 10 how yandere would that make a lupin. cause want to know how limited or limitless I can go with his yandere antics.

On second thought I scrapped that one plot because I read the fujiko tries manga series and got an even better idea, an extreme yandere lupin can only exist in an extreme enviroment. lupin III the anime played with zombies before but never really went full blown actual zombie apocalypse or threatenend one. I think that would be a good frontier, seeing as thew anime and manga loves to references some pop culture, I mean after all the night of the living dead was released roughly around the same time as a part 2. we need zombies to make a yandere lupin snap.
