Hanging Art In The Hideout

Lupin, Jigen and Goemon are in the hideout. It's been a week or so since their last heist and they're finally ready to hang up the art that they had stolen. The master thief sits on a backwards chair, watching his gunman companion as he hangs the biggest piece. Goemon, meanwhile, is meditating in a large chair nearby.

Lupin: Hmm…a little more to the left…

Jigen: Like this?

Jigen scoots the painting along the wall. His arms are showing the strain of holding it up, but dutifully he does his task.

Lupin: Uhhh…a bit more…

Jigen rolls his eyes and moves a bit further to the left.

Lupin: A little more…

Jigen gives an annoyed grumble and takes a full step to the left.

Lupin: That's too far…go to the right…

The gunman huffs and takes a small step to the right.

Jigen: Better?

Lupin: No…just a bit more to the left…

Jigen was getting annoyed, but he shifted to the left.

Lupin: Ok…now just a bit more…

Jigen: I swear on everything holy if you say “to the left” I will shoot you!!

Lupin scowled at the gunman's back.

Lupin: There's no need to get snippy. I suppose that's fine.

Jigen lowered the painting with an exhausted huff, sitting gently on the floor. He then got a hammer and nail, stood on a chair, and then hammered the nail in place. Finally, he picked up the painting once again and hung it on the nail.

Jigen: Ok…that's not too bad.

Lupin: Yeah! And you doubted me.

At that moment, Goemon’s eyes fluttered open. He glared at the wall and the painting, looking pensive as he observed the scene. Finally, when the gunman and the thief had finished congratulating themselves, he spoke up:

Goemon: It’s crooked. Needs to be a little more to the left.

A Secret Love of Westerns

Once again, it was movie night at Chateau De Lupin. Of course, any night the crew were not actively planning or executing a heist could end up being a movie night. On this particular night, it was simply a night to relax and Jigen had picked a classic: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Usually during the nights that Jigen picked the movie, Goemon would simply excuse himself as he didn't think he would enjoy a movie that didn't have a single samurai in it. However, he had caught a few scenes of this particular movie in the past, and had decided to stay for the whole showing this time. He sat in his normal spot, crossing his legs and closing his eyes as he would on any other night, but this time he was secretly watching along through squinted eyes.

The jig was up when a particularly funny line caught him off guard.

“If you’re gunna shoot, shoot! Don't talk!”

Goemon couldn't help but snicker at the perfectly timed comedic line. This immediately caught the ear of Lupin, who turned to look at the samurai.

Lupin: Bless you

Goemon: It was not a sneeze. I laughed.

Jigen: I thought you weren't watching.

Goemon: You were mistaken.

With the ice broken, Goemon opened his eyes fully and continued watching the rest of the movie. He even laughed a few more times and was genuinely enthralled with the action scenes. Furthermore, he found the music captivating, making him feel swelling excitement that the other men could see. Confused as they were, when the movie ended, they could see that the samurai had actually enjoyed himself.

Jigen: You know, if you liked this one, I think you'll really like The Magnificent Seven!

Goemon: If it's anything like The Seven Samurai, perhaps I will.
