The Gentleman Thief

Working on a video essay about Part 3 as whole inspired by and actually kinda the cause of the recent discussion of it on this site. Only struggle is I'm oddly shy about voicing it over myself.

Just saw Immortal Bloodline for my birthday. Thoughts are coming but first a small poll. What is your preferred title for Lupin III. Master Thief, Gentleman Thief, Phantom Thief, or the Worlds Greatest Thief. You'd think mine would be obvious but I've personally always considered Gentleman Thief to go more with Gramps. I think it would either have to be Master Thief for me because World Greatest is too long.

Debating whether or not to post a rant on why Koike Lupin is not a successor to Osumi Lupin. On the one hand my evidence is solid but on the other it’s supplementing my main point of well he vibes different. I’ll tell you what’s not a theory Part 2 Lupin is definitely participating in the performative male trend i can hear tony oliver saying 6’4 feminist btw

Just got the Lupin the 3rd Royal Scramble dvd set since i wanted something from part 2 in my collection and it came with toys? I’m not complaining i guess

If there was a book in universe how do they title Lupin’s name. Is it Lupin III, Lupin the Third, or Lupin the 3rd. It’s definitely not Lupin the IIIRD but out of universe it depends. Is there a definitive answer

Up until now I've been really taken by the darker melancholic noir tone of early Part 1. But I gotta say the vibes of Part 3 and Legend of Gold Babylon is incredible and the franchise should really re explore it. Also the color schemes for the characters in Babylon are the best in the series aside from Zenigata despite it being his regular look. I prefer his Part 3 design more. They gotta bring those 80s colors back

Hey guys if my options are between 40-50 dollar First Haul DVD Collection on ebay with DOA, Harimo's Treasure, Twilight Gemeni, Voyage to Danger, and DOD or the first 5 tv specials on blu ray which would be more bang for my buck in your opinion? I really want to have some Lupin Physical Media. PS: After testing the waters with a few episodes I'm watching Part 3 from the start and will leave my thoughts on a thread.

What’s the deal with the “adult site” bots all coming here at the same time? Also can we get rid of them?

Does anyone know anything about the production of Part 3? Like sources on the creation and vision behind it? Things like the tonal shift of Part 1 is common knowledge but all I know about Part 3 is the character designers vision of a hard lupin, soft lupin, comical lupin. Don't think this warrants a full post in the general chat.

Bad news I am terribly sick
Good news it gives me a lot of time for something I've been cooking up

Just realized at the very end of the school year that you can set music as an alarm. Waking up to Zenigata March from now on.

My birthday is coming up and I was thinking of getting an engraved pocket watch with a Lupin quote. Only question is what?
