    I made it back from the TIBL screening but I can't help but feel down because I screwed up planning my return trip... there weren't any overnight trains on Sunday so I had to fork out for one night in a city centre hotel & it kinda soured the whole trip, I know it's an irrational thought but I feel like I let the Lupin fandom down... every Lupin fan I've ever met is such a cool, "together" person and I'm just not 😢

    ah man, i do stuff like that all the time. my brain leaks little details like a sieve 🥲 it sucks when it's an expensive screw up too. sorry that happened 🫂 you're such a positive presence on the forum kat, don't feel bad for being human!!!

    If it helps to hear I definitely had that problem happen to me in Japan! Using a train/travels to a new place is bound to have some mistakes. Even if it was an unexpected mistake, it's best to try to find what you can find to enjoy in it! Mistakes will always happen, the only thing we can do is learn to adapt to whatever situation we end up with.

    thank you both so much, that means a lot 😭 just it's easier to look back and laugh at something that happens at the very BEGINNING of a trip rather than at the very END; the latter ends up being the freshest thing in your memory... but I do have a lot of good memories of the trip too, I hope I can continue making good memories with Lupin 😌

    I'm tempted to try and organise some kind of fan meetup at the October 31st screening of TIBL but not only is it a long shot since there are relatively few UK-based Lupin fans, I wanna be cautious since it'll be my first time in Glasgow... no offence just saying 😅 Even so, if anyone reading this IS going, feel free to hit me up if you wanna hang out before or after the film!

    Check with Lupin Central perhaps? Lee (the guy who runs it) is UK based and very nice and probably would be a good person to ask if you wanted to organize. He's most active on Tumblr and somewhat on Bluesky :)

    hmm that's an idea, idk how receptive he'd be to someone relatively new to the fandom reaching out to him plus it'd be kinda last minute at this point 😂 still, I guess it's worth a shot to at least @ him in a post!!!

    Joining in the chorus of people apologising for their lack of activity, whether or not I should, I feel really guilty for only doing two (2) Summer of Love prompts 😭 Without going into too much detail, in early July there was an incident in my personal life with lasting consequences that left me with a lot less free time and completely killed the momentum I'd built up with those two prompts

    ...oh, and my country's Obscenely Shitty Actions didn't help either 😔

    I'm gonna try and recapture that momentum for the autumn weekly prompts... then again my Futurama brain worms might come back and distract me from Lupin with the new season coming on September 15th? All I know for sure is that I badly miss drawing and want to get back to it 💗

    It's okay, I wanted this site to be a more gentle paced place, social media demands so much of your life and very instant reaction. I want the forum to respond more to the fact that it's a show that's been around for 50 years, and we have come to it to respond to it long afterwards. And that's okay!     I love that Mamo has 3 English dubs. Comparing dubs is sooo fun~ And I haven't watched the new movie yet myself, I'm hoping to get a good translation first because that stuff can make a HUGE difference in a first impression. I think this stuff really is so much more fun if you don't rush yourself.
